Stop motion film
In collaboration with animator and production artist Pilar Garcia-Fernandezsesma, we worked through each stage of the production process together from ideation to post production, creating a story about two mice making a meal to survive another day.
Idea
Create an animated short to grow my skills in stop motion and post production by collaborating with animator and production artist Pilar Garcia-Fernandezsema while building on my expertise in set fabrication, art direction, and storytelling.
Role
Lead fabricator, storyboard artist, and set designer. Supporter in animation, post production, and sound design.

Storyboards and Animatic
I illustrated and developed the storyboards for this short. Pilar helped translate them into an animatic to set the timing and tone for our animation.

Set and Puppet Fabrication
Lead fabricator for felted stop motion puppets and wooded kitchen set. The set was built with laser cut chipboard and wood and finished with a variety of paints, corks, and other materials.
Final Puppet Design

Test Animation
Animation to test out the functionality of the puppets and to make sure the puppet
tie downs worked for filming.

Animation Test
Production
With Pilar's lighting and production expertise, we both helped bring the story to life by taking turns animating scenes, adjusting lighting, and operating the cameras. Dragonframe was used to assist in animation.
